If you forget your password, please click on the 'Forgot your Password?' link of the front of the directory or on the sponsor login page. The password recovery email will be sent to the email address provided from your Contact Information. The email will contain a link which will redirect the user to the 'Manage Account' section, where the password can be updated.
Yes. In order to add any item, including Free items to the directory you must have an account.
To sign up as a sponsor go to the 'Advertise With Us' link at top menu, select an item and level and click on the 'SIGN UP' button. Fill out all fields, write down your username and password for future reference, choose the best payment gateway for you and follow the steps to finish the process. To sign up as a visitor go to 'CREATE YOUR PROFILE' at top of site, fill out all fields and click in 'SUBMIT'.
Only Listings from levels with detail view enabled appear as Featured Listings, and they are then randomly rotated.
If you attempt to access your account and type in an incorrect password 5 times the account will lock for 1 hour. This is for security reasons.
A business listing is a publically listed business which contains only the information you have added to your business listing and can be categorized according to your business type, location and business offerings. Look Local suggests that you complete all fields available to you in order to offer the potential client (Look Local user) the information needed to select your company as a potential option

In order for you to add a listing or an event you require a profile in order for Look Local to connect your listing or event to you and allow for full management of your listing/event - please refer to the profile section of the FAQ for additional clarity Is my information shared to or sold to a third party company for commercial use? No, Look Local as well as Caxton will not make use of any personal details supplied by you on your profile with the exception of if you have selected the option for Look Local to publically display your personal information - please see the profile section for further clarity
Step 1: Create a profile Step 2: Sign into your new Look Local account by clicking the sign in / sign up button Once you have signed in you will have the following options Edit profile Reviews Favorites Add listing or event Step 3: Select add listing or event You will now be directed to a page displaying the various listing levels available to you. Please read each level to ensure you select the listing level that best suits your needs. Step 4: Select the ‘get this’ button Step 5: You will now be prompted to complete the following Title – this will be your business name Promotional code - Coming soon Listing type – this is set to default as you have already selected the listing level you require Listing category – select only the categories that relate to your business Please note that depending on the level of listing you have selected, you will be charged a fee for additional categories (terms can be viewed to the left of this section) if you have selected more than the allocated categories and wish to remove categories in order to not be charged, please select the category you would like to remove and click the ‘remove the selected category’ Step 6: Total cost will be displayed, should you be satisfied with the cost of the listing you are adding, click ‘continue’ Step 7: Complete all information in the form as accurately as possible based on your business Step 8: Click ’Submit’ Your listing will now be submitted to the admin staff at look local for approval Should payment be required, you will need work through the payment process
No longer that 24hours after payment is made, should payment not be necessary, your listing will be searchable on the Look Local platform within 2 working hours
Within your profile, under sponsor options, select listings, a dropdown will display under manage, select manage, this will take you to all listings you have added.
Depending on the level selected when initially creating the listing/directory, the Look Local platform will automatically send you a mail to warn you that your listing/directory will be expiring. Your listing will not simply expire without prior notice
Navigate yourself to the listing or event you would like to upgrade and select the manage option which will then load the list of events/listings you currently have with the status of all. Select the ‘cog’ icon which will then dropdown displaying the following options Traffic reports Will display all user related traffic on your listing/event SEO You can choose a page name title to be accessed directly from the web browser as a static html page. The chosen page name title must contain only alphanumeric chars (like a-z and/or 0-9) and - instead of spaces Reviews Will allow you to view all reviews about your listing / event Leads Displays all enquires received on your listing/event Facebook comments Holds all comments relating to your listing/event
Reviews Contains all reviews made by you on the Look Local platform Favorites Contains all items you have marked as a favourite using the ‘green heart’ icon, you may remove an item from your favourite list by clicking the ‘remove from favorites’ red button under the item. Site items - You can add, review or update all your items anytime by selecting one of the links below. Editing your profile will allow you to edit all information within your profile, these are as follows Profile image This image is displayed on the Look Local site when you comment or review a listing or event Display name This will be the name you wish to display when interacting with the Look Local site About me This is a brief description of yourself Link Facebook page Although you may have signed up using a Facebook account, Look Local does not capture or store any unnecessary personal information from your Facebook account Location Look Local is designed to offer its users all information relevant to them therefore Look Local uses a Geo IP tracking system which only captures where you are within the South African content. As the user, you have the option to change this in order to suite your needs. Should you login to your computer or mobile device in a different region, Look Local will automatically relocate you (if you have confirmed Look Local may GEO track you. Should you sign up using your facebook account, your profile will display the option to use your facebook location which is loaded onto your facebook account
The only information Look Local saves is your name, surname and email address. This information will not be used for 3rd party advertising.
