It was recently reported by a national newspaper that the offices were raided by Sars, but acting executive manager of Grants Administration, Frank Earl, has denied that this is true.

"The CEO of Sassa locked down the office at Vosloorus due to an ongoing investigation," says Earl.

He did nonetheless confirm that one former and current staff member was arrested, four staff members were suspended and 12 staff members, including management of the office, were placed on special leave pending investigations.

"An intervention team has been put in place to manage the services at the office," assures Earl.
