Ripple control problems in suburb

RESIDENTS in Van Riebeeckpark who have been experiencing problems with their hot water supply, should know it was due to a fault in the load management system of the geyser ripple control system.
“We are currently having a problem with the system in Van Riebeeck Park and surrounding areas and are still waiting for spares,” said Mr Sam Modiba, metro spokesman.
The metro has, in the interim, installed a manual controller at a local substation, which means the ripple relay will be on until the faulty transmitter is repaired.
He said the reason why some of the ripple relays did not switch back on from July 31 was due to power failures at Van Riebeeck Park substation.
The ripple system will operate as follows: it will be on Monday to Friday at 10am and 8pm and 12pm on weekends. The system will be off Monday to Friday at 7am and 7pm and at 9am on weekends.
