A new business project in Rhodesfield was launched by Ekurhuleni Business Initiative (EBi).

The North East Business Initiative (NEBi) will focus on incorporating spatial developments in Rhodesfield and link these with Sandton, Pretoria and Marlboro.

Mr Chris van Biljon, chairman of EBi, said currently Aero City was the focal point of development and the third phase of redevelopment would commence with the implementation of several possible alternatives.

Mr Jack van der Merwe, chief executive officer of the Gautrain management agency, was the guest speaker at the launch.

He shared his experiences relating to the development of the train and how the business hub of Rhodesfield could contribute to the ongoing success of the train.

Mr Greg Botlholo, strategic city planner manager, said local government was fully behind the NEBi and welcomed the growth of Rhodesfield.

"It is the business of the metro to participate, support the private sector and make sure all goes smoothly," said Botholo.
