Chris Bennett will be sorely missed

It is with great sadness that the South Coast Herald reports the sudden death of Chris Bennett (70).

OUR erudite ‘And another thing …’ back page columnist died suddenly yesterday (August 12) after a short illness. The news of the death of our much-loved colleague has come as a terrible shock.

Before relocating to Palm Beach and joining the South Coast Herald - he was also our senior sub-editor for many years - Chris had been a broadcaster with the BBC, NZBC and the SABC. He is survived by a brother Richard who lives in New York.

Rest in peace, dear and gentle Chris.
