Mbombela United aim for NFD

Mbombela United made their intentions of qualifying for the National First Division (NFD) League play-offs at the end of the season crystal clear, when they stunned Nkomazi’s Phiva Young Stars, 2-0, during an exciting tie at KaNyamazane Stadium on Friday night.
"Tingwenyama’s" marksman, Inky Masuku, scored the brace in each half to abruptly end the hoodoo Stars had cast over them since their arrival into the competitive Vodacom League level.
Stars beat United 3-0 in the first round last season and went on to hold them to a two-all draw in the second round, before recently eliminating them from the R6 million Nedbank Cup preliminaries via a 4-3 penalty shoot-out at KaBokweni.
The delighted United head coach, Lesego Matsomela, praised his boys on a job well done and added that they would take each game as it came, until they achieved their target of being promoted into the NFD next season. United will visit rookies Nkomazi Naughty Boys at Driekoppies Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
