Protest outside SABC on Thursday

SOS claims that it had no choice but embark on a protest after a series of letters it sent to SABC Board chairman Ben Ngubane were ignored.

In the letters SOS is asked for update on appointment of the chief executive officer and chief operations officer. It was wanted to know the reasons behind the contentious employment of Justice Ndaba to run the critical SABC turnaround strategy.
Other information required included the public broadcaster's plans for the future, reasons and process for the suspension of the secretary, the R20m car scandal, and why the SABC has not adequately utilised its Request for Proposals book to transparently commission local content.
Those wishing to support the protest are urged to wear red and black and carry placards.
