MALVERN Library launched its new chess club last week where chess enthusiasts spent their day in the throes of strategic moves and check mates.

"We embarked on this project to encourage community participation and encourage teenagers to utilise their time wisely and partake in some constructive activities in the library," said Vimi Maharaj. "We hope to get more chess sets, and include other board games to expand this venture," she added.
