Now in its third year the Randburg Sun’s Photo of the Week competition continues to grow in popularity with readers.

Weekly winners receive an A2 print of their winning photograph on canvas, sponsored by Photo2Art, and are automatically entered into the annual competition.
At the end of the year a gallery exhibition is held showcasing all canvases. This year the exhibition will be held at Northgate Shopping Centre (Checkers court) from 6 – 12 March.

Participation Rules

• Entries are invited from readers who live or work in the Randburg Sun distribution area. This competition is only open to non-professional photographers with a digital camera and all levels of ability.
• Photographs are judged on a weekly basis and must be emailed to photo@caxton.co.za by Mondays at 1pm to be entered into the following week’s competition.
• Entries must be submitted via email in JPEG format and be between 1 and 4 megabytes.
• Your name, surname, address, phone number and short description on your entry (where the photograph was taken, etc.) must be clearly stated on the email with the photograph attached. These are required conditions for entry. Failure to include all of the above will lead to disqualification.
• The winning photograph will be published in every edition of the Randburg Sun and on www.looklocal.co.za.
• Entrants must be the sole author and owner of all copyright of all photographs entered.
• By sending us your photograph, you grant us permission to publish your photograph in any media we choose. No payment will be made for the use of your photograph.
• No more than one prize will be awarded to any entrant in a three month period
• The weekly winning entrants will be required to make available their winning canvas print for the duration of the exhibition at the end of the competition.
• You may enter as many times as you wish and can enter a photograph in more than one week.
• Annual winners will be required to be present at the awards evening (date to be confirmed) to be eligible for the annual prizes.
• The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• No employee of Caxton CTP and/or any of their affiliated companies and/or agencies, and members of their immediate family may enter.
• Prizes are not transferable and/or negotiable.
• Entrant’s information can be used for marketing purposes.
• Prizes not collected/claimed within six months of being won will be disposed of at Randburg Sun's discretion.
• Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.
• Randburg Sun reserves the right to alter, amend or close the competition or the competition rules at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be published in the newspaper and on the website.
• In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the competition, Randburg Sun's decision shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
• Randburg Sun reserves the right to disqualify your entry if it is incomplete or if there are reasonable grounds to believe that you have breached any of these rules.
