It's International 'Thank you' day
10 January 2013 | Marizka Coetzer
Although International Thank you Day was most likely created by a greeting card company to generate more sales, we should be thankful that it does exist.
How often do we take the time to thank those who have made a difference in our lives throughout the year?
International Thank You Day is celebrated annually on 11 January and was implemented to create awareness and gratitude among communities around the world.
International Thank You Day is spent by spreading the joy and to give thanks to friends, colleagues, family and anyone who has brighten up our day.
'Thank you' might be a very simple message that most of us sometimes tend to forget or neglect.
This day is not about going out and buying 'thank you' gifts but instead showing appreciation to those special individuals in your life.
Receiving a ‘thank you’ after doing a favour automatically makes us feel great about ourselves, so don’t forget to say thank you – not just today, but always.
Also, take a moment to give thanks for all the little things in your life that you are fortunate to have.
So no matter how big or small the gesture, don’t forget to say ‘thank you’.
To all the inconsiderate New Year revelers:
