Two new extended routes will provide sufficient challenge for all levels of off-road riders, from novice to competitive.

Increasing popularity in mountain biking has prompted race organisers to offer two routes to accommodate varying skill and fitness levels.

The shorter route will headline a 30km course which entails a manageable intermediate ride through the Leeuwkop Prison.

A longer, technical 55km route will also follow a similar course, however with additional trails within the impressive Waterfall Country Estate, as well as the surrounding Gautrain depot areas. Both courses promise to be exciting and challenging as they navigate undisturbed dirt trails through rugged Highveld terrain.

A 10km route will not be included this year. Cyclists who prefer a shorter route can opt to enter and ride a few laps of the new addition to the festival of cycling, the Momentum 94.7 40km ride. Entries close on 8 October.
