It is alleged the man, Kgoroba Patrick Thobejane (42) accused his mother, Kgobane Eleanor Thobejane (81), of bewitching him.

According to Maake police spokesperson, Constable Mpho Seroto, the suspect opened fire on his mother and sister after a family conflict.

'The mother died on the scene and the sister was taken to Sekororo Hospital.
'The police immediately rushed to the scene, unfortunately the suspect turned the gun on himself and died on the scene,' said Seroto.

Police opened cases of murder, attempted murder and an inquest.
